*The selections I've made in this section are just a small example of all of the materials I designed as Camp Director for Yearbooks Northwest Camp 2010. The camp was affiliated with Herff Jones Yearbooks, who I currently work for, and was a three-day overnight journalism and yearbook training camp for our clients. I served as the director and event planner for all aspects of camp.

I authored this press release for a client of mine at Lindsay, Stone and Briggs. The client was First Weber Reality, and the release introduced the public to their brand new "Front Runner" program.
This is an opinion-editorial piece that I authored on behalf of Dr. Frank Byrne at Marshfield Clinic while working at Lindsay, Stone and Briggs. The piece was picked up by several media outlets.

On Wisconsin Magazine - Jeopardy! Feature

I was asked to write a first person account of the Jeopardy! College Tournament when it came to Madison this past April. I experienced the try-out process, interviewed participants and Alex Trebek, and wrote all about it in this full-length feature article that was printed in the summer issue of On Wisconsin Magazine.

Madison Magazine - Fido Photo Blurb

This is a short blurb for a Madison-based dog photographer that was featured in Madison Magazine.

Madison Magazine - Toy Exhibit Blurb

Here is a short blurb I wrote for Madison Magazine telling about an exhibit at the Historical Museum. I was also responsible for fact-checking and maintaining a monthly events calendar.

Daily Cardinal Newspaper - Funeral Protest Ban

Written for the State section, this article was a front page piece on protests waged against a proposed bill to curb protests at military funerals.

Daily Cardinal Newspaper - Doyle Trade Mission

As a writer for the State section of the Daily Cardinal student newspaper, I covered issues in the state government and legislature. This is a front-page article about Governor Doyle's trade mission to Europe.

Curb Magazine - Art Therapy

This was a piece also written while I was lead writer for Curb Magazine, a class publication. I researched the field of art therapy and how local artists are using their talents to evoke responses about global warming.

Curb Magazine - Wedding Art

As a lead writer for my magazine feature writing class, I wrote a four-part series on weddings. This was the section on cake decorating, and the rest were featured as a special section on our website

Madison Magazine - Co-Ed Call of Duty

While interning at Madison Magazine I wrote a feature article about student soldiers for Channel3000.com. Brennan Nardi, the magazine's editor, liked the article and asked me to expand it into a profile feature to be printed in the Our Town section in the front of the book.
